Koravan & Korathi

Koravan & Korathi shrouded in mist at Ramakalmedu. This place is unique due to the gale force winds and thick mist. On a clear day, one can see Bodi & Kumbum, small towns on the Tamilnad plains.

The Legend of Koravan & Korathi.

Kalyanathand

This is the reservoir feeding the Idukki dam. Kalyanathand is the old name but this spot is also known as Kalveri Mount.

This place is just a few hundred metres from the NH 49.

Idukki

There are some awesome views on display in Idukki district in Kerala. Luckily, some of them are off the rotten, beaten tourist tracks. I will try and post specific place details in my next blog.

Unplanned Tourism ( A Real Killer )

Kerala, by virtue of its bountiful natural resources and stunning visuals, earned itself the name - Gods Own Country. The tourism industry boomed as a whole plethora of resorts opened up, filled to the brim with honeymooners holding hands and throwing empty plastic packets of junk food as they moon each other.

The tourist hot spots ( Munnar, Thekkady, Kumarakom & Kovalam) are presently a sore ( and bleeding ) on Kerala's face. It may not be possible or make commercial sense to stop the tourists at our borders. I suggest we spread the chaos to remoter parts of the state. The benefits are twofold. It will give the hot spots some space and time to recover from the beating they have taken this past decade. And other areas of Kerala can be a part of the commercially uplifting experience of the Tourist Greens.

Tourist Greens to Replace Nature's Greens. ....... whatta shame
