Unplanned Tourism ( A Real Killer )
Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 01:09PM Kerala, by virtue of its bountiful natural resources and stunning visuals, earned itself the name - Gods Own Country. The tourism industry boomed as a whole plethora of resorts opened up, filled to the brim with honeymooners holding hands and throwing empty plastic packets of junk food as they moon each other.
The tourist hot spots ( Munnar, Thekkady, Kumarakom & Kovalam) are presently a sore ( and bleeding ) on Kerala's face. It may not be possible or make commercial sense to stop the tourists at our borders. I suggest we spread the chaos to remoter parts of the state. The benefits are twofold. It will give the hot spots some space and time to recover from the beating they have taken this past decade. And other areas of Kerala can be a part of the commercially uplifting experience of the Tourist Greens.
Tourist Greens to Replace Nature's Greens. ....... whatta shame
